International Women’s Day is on the 8^th March and what better time to highlight the successful career of our own Heidi Grimes.

Heidi began her career in customer services, mainly in the retail and banking sector. This gave her great customer-facing experience and helped her develop the skills required to deal with most situations a customer could throw in her direction.

Whilst working, and raising two small children, Heidi set her eyes on gaining a qualification in accounting to further her knowledge. Juggling work, training and children can prove to be very testing however Heidi knuckled down and remained focussed on her goals.

Heidi’s husband had his own company, and this encouraged her to study for an Accountancy Qualification, as she felt she could help him in growing his business whilst managing his accounting needs.

Following qualification, Heidi worked client side for many years, then once the recession of 2008 hit the nation, Heidi decided that the time was right to setup her own business in the accountancy world. Heidi gained a few clients quite quickly and decided to officially incorporate Ledger Accounting Services Ltd in 2011, slowly growing the team as she went. Having started with only herself, Heidi then began to recruit over the years, the office now has 4 full time and 3 part time employees!

Heidi’s background in the customer service sector gave her the ideal platform to integrate with clients, understanding their real-life needs as opposed to just their accounting needs, which has helped her grow a close bond with all of the clients, many of which have actually become close friends over the years. Heidi is very passionate about what she does, and prides herself on offering the best possible service each and every day. Heidi understands that every client has different needs and a blanket approach is not always appropriate, she quickly understands what benefit she and the firm can be to each of our client’s business.

Heidi’s struggles have certainly paid off and it is a great inspiration to everyone she meets. The struggles are far from over though…. Heidi is training again, but this time, for her first marathon! We wish Heidi the best of luck on this new venture!
